Brand Photoshoot Case Study with Emma Doran

By SARA MCDONALD, Photographer

The amount of hours devoted to the creation of a business from initial concept to registration admin and finding your customers are unpaid and usually huge. Conveying your hard work time and money spent to future customers is an art. It’s often difficult to zoom out and see your unique story the qualities that only your personality can bring to a business. A story illustrating the characters, the tone of the workplace, the products and services you provide and where you provide them.

Recently I was delighted to work with comedian Emma Doran, she needed a portrait to use for her website and to be used for her new tour poster. Emma is a comedian presenter writer and live performer. This is her new tour and she wants a new look. Her last image was a selfie taken in the garden. She works so hard, she wanted her new images to look more professional and I was over the moon to collaborate.

Together with a stylist we created a fresh now look for Emma, it’s our passion, so I was able to translate Emma’s ideas and requirements to the image and Orla, the Stylist, conveyed them with the wardrobe. Orla has the knowledge and contacts in the design world that we wouldn’t have. We are always looking at the new trends and collecting ideas for colour and style to use in the future.

If you hire a professional photographer you are using their experience and education their expensive equipment, cameras and post production software.

Time efficiency is key in business. The images a photographer will capture in a half day will be illustrative and informative. On brand images for use immediately, or to file away to use for another time. These will generate interest, and consistently send your message to potential customers.
