Why I love working with non-profit organisations.

I have had many jobs over the years and worn many different hats. Some of these have led me to administrative roles within non-profit organisations. I love working with non profits now because I have a good understanding of how they operate. I appreciate that it can take quite a while for feedback because a design may need to be signed off by a volunteer who may only be available on certain days.

I understand that non-profit organisations want and deserve their own unique and full design experience and don’t desire cliché designs previously related to similar organisations or charities. Just like small businesses they must stand out to their audience. Either for funding or new members or even to bring awareness regarding a topic close to their hearts.

My experience of working within non-profits both in Ireland and Scotland as a volunteer and (non-designer) employee has helped me grasp a good understanding of their unique needs and their day to day working style.
